My “Magic” Cold Remedy

Cold season is on the horizon and you want to be fully armed to protect your precious immune system.

When it comes to colds I recommend 2 things: (1) natural remedies (2) swift, serious action.

If you don’t nip it in the bud it could linger longer than necessary.  Using over the counter drugs will only mask your symptoms, whereas a natural remedy will boost your immune system and actually cure what ails you.

About a year ago, I across a remedy that I’ve sworn by ever since.  Give it a try next time you feel a tickle and let me know if it works for you!


Magic Cold Remedy

  • 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tsp of good honey (manuka if you’re up for the investment)
  • A big pinch of turmeric
  • A small pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1/4- 1/2 cup water (optional)


Combine all ingredients and mix well.  Take it as a shot on sip on it for a while.  Either way, it’ll do it’s magic.

Here are some other incredible cold busters that are great to keep around…

Garlic: It’s a natural anti-bacterial.  You can cut up a clove and swallow pieces like pills, or chop it up and make a garlic tea.  The second option will make your house smell yummy and your breath smell like death.  So, caveat emptor.

Oregano Oil: A the first little itch of a cold, take some oregano oil and it will tackle that tickle immediately.  But you have to use it early on!

Echinacea: This is a classic, and it’s a classic for a reason.  It’s always good to have some echinacea tincture around during cold season.  Take a dropper-full a few times a day and it will nip your cold in the bud.

Fermented Foods: Sauerkraut and other fermented foods are incredible for gut health and therefore overall health.  It builds healthy bacteria which boost your body’s immune system and makes it better at fighting off all sorts of infections.

Bone Broths: So nutrient and mineral rich, it’s no surprise that bone broths have been the go-to for grandmas and moms all around the word.  Bone broth will fortify you with much needed nutrients and give you the physical energy to fight off your bug.
